The Ticket

You bought the ticket, now step right up… take a seat, and I’ll try and deliver a message that’s upbeat. With so little time, but with a spotlight, I’d do best to keep short what I deem to be right. I’ve been screaming for change—and share your outrage—in American culture and its hateful exchange. Every day that we stand idly by, our voice is hushed, without an outcry. Find your way to amplify fairness, empathy, love… unify! Unify! Stand up for others who give a damn about our fellow man, the climate change game plan, animal welfare throughout their whole lifespan, feeding all mouths, and end to the fucking klan. You bought a ticket, so get your money’s worth. Let’s each choose three ways, with no more delays, in which awareness is raised, and hearts are warmed with a positive, helpful blaze. It doesn’t take too much, to become more in touch. Oh, we all bought the ticket, just to say “We did it!”. We all bought the ticket, just to say “We did it!”. Oh, the stage is set. Oh, let’s not forget about our debt. Yeah, it’s our time… right on time, to do more. There’s still time, a call for our time… to restore, what we paid a ticket for. We all paid... what we paid, a ticket for.

This is all an illusion… none of this is real. This is only illusion. Wait, hold on, let’s step back, to before the attack by a kid with a gun—that, somehow, just for fun—entered a school filled with other kids and did something we couldn’t take back. This can’t be real, tell me I’m wrong. American kids, with guns, killing each other all day long. And, of course, it’s our own fault. Teaching family values with firearms… it’s our fault. Loading a child, we’re loading these children, loading a small mind, as we load a gun. It’s time to wake up, no illusion… this is happening. Our American dreams, busted fat at the seams, just look what we’ve done: replacing wholesome diets with fucking machine guns. Replacing wholesome diets with fucking machine guns.

It took me years and it’s been worth the wait. Sifted through sand’s time, let’s hope it’s not too late. You mailed me the key to open your heart’s gate. All of my family judging this bond. They’re hoping, they’re praying, that we will stay strong. All of my family judge the bond. They’re hoping, they’re praying, that we’ll stay strong. Oh, that we stay strong. Everyone wants their own cup of salvation… and, I’ve got mine. I’m turning the hourglass over and over past every minute, every hour, every day… its own fucking task. Every day is a fucking task. But, lucky, we were built to last. You and me were built to last. As we watch the sand in the hourglass, we were built to last. Every minute, every hour, every day, we’re built to last. Through the storms of long distance norms. Missing your lips, your touch, your warmth, and your trust… ‘cause before you, this old machine had begun to rust. Damn the wind, we must. Damn the distance, we must. Damn the odds, we must. It took me years and it’s been worth the wait. Sifted through sand’s time, let’s hope it’s not too late. You mailed me the key to open your heart’s gate. All of my family is in wait, and you and me are in wait… thank you for opening the gate.

Finding the strength to move on, today, not tomorrow. Escape, open your cage to fly free, free! I’ve sharpened my teeth on these bars, not going to admit defeat. They wanted to get the most of me, but they’ll only taste my wrath, in an overflowing bloodbath. You can only take as much from a man that YOU can carry. But son, I travel light—in reach, what I need—the rest I bury. If you threaten my life, if you threaten my life, be prepared for a war. ‘Cause, now that I’m free, I’ve reasons to fight for. Hey, hey, hey… I remember your stench, yeah. ‘Been smelling you coming for miles with your revenge to quench. My freedom, that I’ve earned, I plan to keep. I plan to keep.
